Yes. A continuously running cistern can waste a large volume of water over a few months, and it is almost always a cheap fix such as an inlet valve, outlet valve or worn seal. It is one of the most worthwhile small repairs in the house.
Most of the time it can be repaired. Valves, buttons, seals and connections are all replaceable while the pan and cistern are sound. Where the ceramic is cracked, the pan is badly damaged, or parts are no longer available for an older suite, replacing it is the better option.

Repeated blockages usually mean something beyond the pan. It can be a partial obstruction in the branch drain, tree roots in the line, or a fall problem in the pipework. We clear it first and can put a CCTV camera through to find out what is actually causing it.
A straightforward swap is usually done in a single visit. It takes longer if the waste outlet has to move, the floor needs making good, or the water connection and isolation valve also need replacing. We will tell you what is involved when we quote.
