Can You Smell Gas?
The smell is the obvious sign, but it is not the only one. Gas bottles emptying faster than they should, a bill that has climbed with no change in use, a burner that will not run properly, or a hissing sound near a connection.
Leaks come from ageing pipework, joints that have worked loose, damage from digging or building work, and appliance connections that were never quite right.
If you can smell gas inside, do not touch light switches or anything electrical. Turn the supply off at the meter or bottle if you can safely reach it, open the windows, get everyone outside, and call us from outside.

We pressure test the installation, which confirms whether the system is losing gas and by how much. From there we isolate sections to narrow down where the loss is, and inspect the joints, fittings and appliance connections in that run.
It can be subtle rather than absent, particularly outdoors or in a well ventilated space where it disperses. Bottles emptying faster than usual, an unexplained rise in gas use, or an appliance that has started running poorly are all worth having checked.
